South Fraser FC Hosts Magnuson Ford Mariners

U13 GirlsWeek 3 of the EA BCSPL saw South Fraser FC host the Magnuson Ford (Abbotsford) Mariners this past weekend at South Surrey Athletic Park under cloudy conditions, with the sun poking through on Sunday to cap off a very successful match weekend on the pitch for South Fraser.  The South Fraser boys teams played on Saturday, and the girls teams on Sunday.  The EA BCSPL is a high-performance youth soccer league for the top male and female players in the province.

“As we move through our first ‘mini’ season for the BCSPL, we continue to improve our organization and match presentation, and see even greater improvement in the quality of the league’s player development environment and experience. With the current mini season well under way, we continue to look to making our player, coach and parent experiences even better as we look ahead to and prepare for our full 2012 season”, said Darryl Jones, President of South Fraser FC.

As usual, the facilities at South Surrey Athletic Park were in great shape, which adds to the more professional experience for players and parents.  “The grass fields at South Surrey Athletic Park are in excellent condition and add to the whole experience for the players. Best fields I have seen so far. Change rooms, rest rooms and concession are nice and close to the fields”, added Gary Reid, a parent from the Mariners.

U15 BoysWith the focus of the EA BCSPL on developing the top youth players in the province, the top-notch coaching and playing opportunities are as important as individual game results. Mark McQueen, a technical director for South Fraser, added, "This weekend was another great example of the excellent player development environment provided by the EA Sports BC Soccer Premier League. The combination of quality players and coaching staff made for a very high standard of play throughout the weekend. I'm convinced the Whitecaps FC scouts and the other local universities that were in attendance couldn't help but be impressed with the overall quality the league".

“Thanks also to Magnusson Ford Mariners FC and their supporters for coming out to South Surrey for our games this weekend, and for displaying great sportsmanship and quality performances on the field”, said Jones.
